Striking yet delicate, the Akari UF3-Q Table Lamp, designed by Isamu Noguchi for Vitra, is sure to fit seamlessly into any home. Since its original conceptualisation in 1951, this unique design has been lauded as an icon of mid-century design. Fashioned from handmade Shoji paper and bamboo ribbing supported by a metal frame, each monochrome lamp is stamped with Noguchi's signature. Blending Japanese craftmanship with elegant contemporary design, for over 50 years each lamp has been handcrafted by artisans at the original manufacturers in Gifu, Japan. Aiming to blur the boundaries between monumental sculpture and organic furniture design, this unique design reflects Isamu Noguchi's belief that 'everything is sculpture'.
