Butterflies are grouped vertically in this framed and mounted watercolour image by artist Adelene Fletcher. This print is presented on hand-torn watercolour paper. Adelene Fletcher has become famous for experimenting with new styles and techniques in her creation of specialist watercolour paintings. Initially, Fletcher’s background was in textile design and she originally graduated from the Manchester College of Art during the 50s. Her paintings are weaved with her textiles history and this can also be seen in her skilful use of colour. Adelene has received numerous awards and critical acclaim, exhibited in the Royal Institute of Painters and written and illustrated her own books.
I love the Adelene Fletcher butterfly print for its delicate watercolour aesthetic and versatile size, making it an easy addition to many spaces. It's particularly well-suited for bedrooms, living rooms, or even hallways where a subtle pop of colour and nature-inspired charm can brighten up the environment. Because of its soft pastel tones, it pairs beautifully with neutral, pastel, or lightly patterned interiors, adding a touch of elegance without overpowering other design elements. Practical styling tips include grouping it with other small prints or placing it above a console table with a few minimalist accessories to create a curated look. Its understated charm makes it an ideal piece for those wanting artwork that’s both stylish and adaptable.
