A tranquil coastal scene with a fisherman's lobster traps by artist Adelene Fletcher. Printed on watercolour paper and presented in a grey wood-effect frame. Adelene Fletcher has become famous for experimenting with new styles and techniques in her creation of specialist watercolour paintings. Initially, Fletcher’s background was in textile design and she originally graduated from the Manchester College of Art during the 50s. Her paintings are weaved with her textiles history and this can also be seen in her skilful use of colour. Adelene has received numerous awards and critical acclaim, exhibited in the Royal Institute of Painters and written and illustrated her own books.
I really like this Fisherman’s Catch print for its calming coastal vibe, making it a versatile piece for a range of interiors. It works particularly well in seaside-inspired or neutral schemes, adding a touch of maritime charm without overwhelming the space. To style it effectively, consider pairing it with other nautical accents like rope or driftwood, or display it above a simple sideboard or console to create a focal point. Its size makes it ideal for smaller walls or as part of a gallery arrangement. For a more curated look, you could layer it with black-and-white photos or textured objects to add visual interest while keeping the overall aesthetic relaxed and inviting.
