Description

Inspired by a French antique, our regal Adele Reading Chair features an intricate frame carved from limed wood. Whilst the front of the armchair is upholstered in a neutral linen with contrasting storm blue buttons, the back reveals a subtle black and natural striped design. Its cocooning shape makes for a tranquil resting place beside your fire or in the corner of your sitting room.

Our Stylist Says

I love the Adele armchair for its timeless elegance and versatility, making it an excellent choice as an accent piece in a variety of interiors. Its classic design and neutral upholstery allow it to blend seamlessly into both traditional and contemporary spaces, adding a touch of sophistication without overwhelming the room. For styling tips, consider pairing it with textured cushions or a soft throw to create a cosy corner, and position it near statement lighting or a side table to make it functional as well as stylish. It works well in living rooms, bedrooms, or even reading nooks, acting as a focal point while inviting you to unwind comfortably.

About Graham & Green

Founded in 1974, Graham & Green are a family business that started in Notting Hill, and have many pieces that bring touch of individuality and character to any space.

The Inception of a Lifestyle Brand

In 1974, Antonia started Graham & Green after a trip to India. She wanted to be independent and worked with traders from different countries. This led her to create the UK's first 'lifestyle' brand, bringing unique home items from places like India, Morocco, and Europe.

The first Graham & Green store opened in Notting Hill in 1974, showcasing Antonia's special collection of items from around the world. You can still visit this original store on Elgin Crescent today.

Evolution through Generations

Graham & Green has a rich history full of important moments. In 1980, they started creating hand-drawn mail-order catalogues to share their store's charm with more people.

They opened a new store in Primrose Hill in 1994, reflecting the brand's playful and free nature.

Antonia's son, Jamie, took a creative lead in 1998. Having studied at Kingston University, he began designing unique furniture collections, shifting Graham & Green from not only importing items but also creating them.

Then, in 1999, Graham & Green launched their first website, allowing people all across the UK to shop their collections online.

Milestones and Memories

Over time, Graham & Green has marked its journey with special products, like unique Birthday items with lovebird designs. After Antonia led the brand for 37 years, Jamie and Lou took over, pushing Graham & Green to grow even more.

They opened big stores in Bayswater and Bath in 2016. By 2018, Graham & Green updated their website to keep it modern and stylish for their customers.
