Description

Ada Ostrich is an exquisite table lamp that is certain to add a touch of elegance to your home décor. This lamp would look incredible placed in a chic dressing room or in a living room for a light, airy feel. The magnificently detailed golden finish on Ava’s legs creates a deluxe aesthetic, enhanced by the beautiful array of white feathers surrounding the lightbulb. This projects a divine glow that is sure to bring a beautiful warm ambience into your home.

Our Stylist Says

This table lamp is a real statement piece thanks to its unique ostrich leg design and luxe gold finish. I love how it blends a touch of humour with sophistication, making it perfect for eclectic or glamorous interiors. It works particularly well in bedrooms or living rooms where it can serve as a sculptural bedside or side table accent. To style it effectively, keep surrounding decor minimal to let the lamp stand out, and consider pairing it with soft textiles and metallic accents for a cohesive look. Its whimsical yet elegant appeal makes it a versatile choice that adds personality without overwhelming a space.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
