A simple line is repeated and reversed across the canvas to create two linked, reflected rows finished with the palest wash of yellow. A Chelsea School of Art alumni, Kevin Jackson lives and works in London, and has work displayed in the British Museum. The artist often creates mixed-media abstract pieces as a way to analyse the place humans have in an increasingly virtual world.
I love this one for its bold simplicity and how it injects a pop of colour without overwhelming a space. The yellow in Abigail really works well in more neutral or muted interiors, acting as a lively focal point. It’s versatile enough to sit in a contemporary or minimalist setting, but can also complement more eclectic or eclectic interiors that play with colour. For styling, try pairing it with natural materials like wood or linen to keep the look balanced, and hang it at eye level in living rooms or hallways where it can be appreciated without competing with other artwork. A great choice for adding personality and colour punch into an understated space.
