I’m a fan of the Abbey desk for its slim, space-saving design and combination of open shelving with a single drawer - it’s ideal for compact home offices or living rooms where you need both workspace and display. The metal frame and rustic oak finish suit industrial or Scandi-inspired interiors, but it also fits well into a relaxed boho scheme when paired with rattan baskets and woven textures.
To style it practically, keep frequently used items like notebooks and pens in the drawer, then use matching baskets on the lower shelf to corral cables or chargers. On the top tiers, mix framed photos or art prints with small plants to add height variation, and leave your desk surface clear except for a slim desk lamp and laptop.

In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth. By 1989, this entrepreneurial spirit led to the opening of the very first physical store on Billacombe Road, originally named "C.D.S. Superstores". However, in the early '90s, a rebranding took place, introducing "The Range" to the world.
Today, with a whopping 200+ stores across the UK, The Range boasts an impressive selection of over 65,000 products, spreading across 16 diverse departments, all dedicated to enhancing homes and lifestyles.
Chris Dawson, the brain behind The Range, held the CEO position from 1989 to 2017. With a flair for business, Chris's achievements haven't gone unnoticed. He was even ranked fifth in a survey of Britain's Top 100 Entrepreneurs.
Under his leadership, The Range has not only thrived locally but has also hinted at European expansion dreams, envisioning a staggering 1,000 stores across the continent.
