A design icon transformed into a poetic work of artA legendary Armchair reinvented by Jean-Charles de CastelbajacThe AA armchair, a faithful reissue of the famous model imagined in 1938, has been given an exclusive metamorphosis by the multi-disciplinary artist Jean-Charles de Castelbajac. For this collaboration, Airborne entrusted the designer with a white Cloth and a few Pencils: the result is "a sensitive, poetic and offbeat flight of fancy", a vibrant tribute to the Armchair's modernist heritage and the designer's bold imagination. Mythical design with modernist rootsThe brainchild of Antoni Bonet, Juan Kurchan and Jorge Ferrari-Hardoy, the AA (or BKF) Armchair has endured through the ages without ever losing its aura. With its geometric Steel structure and suspended cover, it embodies the perfect synthesis of form and function. Awarded a prize in 1940 at the Salon des Artistes Décorateurs in Buenos Aires, it soon became part of MoM. A's permanent collection. Today, Airborne remains the sole publisher of the authentic version, engraved AA© followed by the year of manufacture. An artistic, ethical and local manifestoDesigned in France, this collector's edition features a 400 g/m² Recycled cotton cover, printed in Lyon and sewn in Tarn-et-Garonne. The structure, too, is 100% French. In addition to being removable, it can be fitted with interchangeable covers, allowing your Armchair to evolve with the seasons or your desires. A creation that's both eco-conscious and affective, designed to last and be handed down.
