Designed by Alvar Aalto in 1954, the opal Pendant Light A440 would lend a touch of contemporary style to any home. With a sculptural quality that commands attention even when unlit, the light combines elegance with simplicity to give it a timeless aesthetic. Crafted from hand-blown glass, light disperses evenly through the white opaque shade to provide a glare-free glow. Alvar Aalto was one of the founding members of Finnish manufacturer, Artek, and embraced strong individuality with a focus on designing predominantly for humanity, creating functional and dynamic pieces for public and personal spaces alike.
