Originally created to highlight art in the Parisian house Alvar Aalto designed for French gallerist and collector Louis Carré, the white Pendant Light A338 was designed by Aalto in 1950 and would lend a touch of contemporary style to any home. Nicknamed the 'Bilberry' after its distinctive organic shape, the light combines elegance with simplicity to give it a sculptural quality that commands attention even when unlit. Crafted from white powder-coated steel, the lamp was designed specifically to spotlight interior features and would enhance any space whether alone or in a group. Alvar Aalto was one of the founding members of Finnish manufacturer, Artek, and embraced strong individuality with focus on designing predominantly for humanity, creating functional and dynamic pieces for public and personal spaces alike.
