Created by the celebrated Finnish designer Alvar Aalto in 1937, the A330 S Pendant Light is nicknamed the Golden Belland was initially designed for Helsinki's Savoy Restaurant, where it still hangs today. The beautiful patina that has developed on this design classic over the eight decades since it was fitted at the Savoy is a testament to the light’s graceful ageing and timeless appeal. Shaped from a single sheet of steel or brass, the perforated rim of the A330 S casts an exceptional glow and prevents glare too. Alvar Aalto was one of the founding members of Finnish manufacturer Artek. Embracing strong individuality with a focus on designing predominantly for humanity, he masterminded functional and dynamic pieces for public and personal spaces. A successful architect, urban planner and designer, Aalto was deeply inspired by the nature and landscapes of Finland. Requires: 1x max. 12W E27 bulb (not included). Care instructions: Use a soft cloth, dampened with water and soap, or mild cleanser if needed for resistant dirt; do not use alcohol or other solvents.
