Description

Originally designed for the Das Haus exhibition at the 2015 Cologne Fair, the Commune Stool reflects on design duo neri & hu's idea of a future society, crafted from Danish-oiled walnut with statement legs and manufactured in Portugal by De La Espada. Working from a stimulus of community and collective, neri & hu created this contemporary stool to showcase its split legs working together to support its surface. Crafted from American black walnut wood, the Commune Stool presents a natural grain that accents its fluid, round surface.

Our Stylist Says

The 770 Commune Stool in Danish Oiled Walnut is a versatile piece that brings warmth and natural texture to both modern and rustic interiors. I love it for its clean lines and sturdy construction, which make it suitable as a casual seat or even a side table. It works particularly well in kitchens, cafés, or open-plan living spaces where natural materials add a sense of calm. Practical styling tips include pairing it with other walnut or wood accents, or using it as a plant stand to soften its solid form. Its neutral wood tone allows it to blend seamlessly into various colour schemes, making it a flexible addition to many environments.
