I’m a fan of this X-shaped five-tier shelf for its blend of metal framing and warm brown boards - it feels tough without looking cold. It sits naturally in industrial lofts, modern farmhouses or pared-back Scandi schemes, and the open design keeps a room from feeling boxed in. Styling tip: group books both vertically and horizontally, then layer in a couple of small plants or ceramic pieces to soften the lines. Humble Beginnings
In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth. By 1989, this entrepreneurial spirit led to the opening of the very first physical store on Billacombe Road, originally named "C.D.S. Superstores". However, in the early '90s, a rebranding took place, introducing "The Range" to the world.

A Visionary Leader
Chris Dawson, the brain behind The Range, held the CEO position from 1989 to 2017. With a flair for business, Chris's achievements haven't gone unnoticed. He was even ranked fifth in a survey of Britain's Top 100 Entrepreneurs.
Under his leadership, The Range has not only thrived locally but has also hinted at European expansion dreams, envisioning a staggering 1,000 stores across the continent.
