It works just as well on a kitchen patio as in a farmhouse conservatory, breaking up flat borders with graduated heights. To style it, group different leaf textures and bloom times - say silver-leafed lamb’s ear on the bottom and bright annuals or herbs on the top tiers - so you get depth and seasonal interest. Position it against a pale brick or rendered wall to make the wood grain pop, and leave space around for easy watering and harvest.
