The open tiers let light through, so it works just as well in a sunny hallway as it does beside a sofa.
For styling, mix potted plants of different heights and leaf shapes - trailers on the top rungs, something sculptural like a snake plant in the middle, and a low fern at the base. Add a woven storage basket on one shelf to hide plant care bits, and leave at least one level free of clutter so the overall look stays airy.
