I’m a fan of this little convertible chair thanks to its clever multi-position design - it’s a cosy armchair by day, then opens out into a guest bed when you need it. The warm brown fabric and slim black metal arms suit modern or Scandi-inspired spaces, and it’s compact enough for city flats and spare rooms alike.
To style it, layer a textured throw or lumbar cushion in a contrasting hue (think deep teal or ochre) and flank it with a slimline side table or floor lamp. Its clean lines and neutral tone mean you can dot similar black-metal accents around the room for a cohesive, contemporary look.

In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth.
