Description

The 1966 collection by Richard Schultz was designed at the request of Florence Knoll, who wanted well-designed outdoor furnishings that would withstand the corrosive salt air at her home in Florida. Through the years, the 1966 Collection has earned a special place in the world of outdoor furniture and is considered a classic design for the garden. The collection has also been chosen to be included in various museums, including the Permanent Design Collection of the Museum of Modern Art, New York (MoMA).. With exceptional durability, the range - which consists of various chairs, tables and chaise longues -has been re-engineered to incorporate the best modern materials, including Teflon thread and weather resistant polyester powder coat stainless steel.

Our Stylist Says

The 1966 Dining Table's minimalist design makes it a versatile piece that can suit a range of interiors, from contemporary to Scandi-inspired styles. I love its clean lines and understated elegance, which provide a neutral backdrop for mixing different chairs and accessories. It's particularly well-suited to open-plan spaces, where its simple aesthetic won’t overwhelm the room. Practical styling tips include pairing it with statement chairs to add visual interest, or keeping the tabletop clutter-free for a sleek, modern look. Adding textured or coloured accessories underneath or around it can also help to soften the overall feel and create a welcoming dining area.
