Finn Juhl, the master of Danish Modern, originally designed the iconic 108 Chair in oak and black Sorensen Prestige leather in 1946.Far from your average dining chair, the 108 Chair features exceptional details such as angled side bars and sliding cross bars, which add unexpected movement and dynamics to the construction. Upholstered in strong, soft-pigmented black Sorensen Prestige European leather with a natural grain, the chair's leather has been given a durable surface treatment that is practical and smudge proof. The first Danish furniture designer to achieve international recognition, Finn Juhl is seen by many as the master of Danish Modern. A self-taught designer, he originally studied to become an architect but worked with the mindset of a sculptor when creating his designs. Rather than thinking in terms of practicality, Finn Juhl broke free from the constraints of conventional working methods to create truly innovative designs.
