Description

This Mayor sofa was originally designed in 1939 by Arne Jacobsen and Flemming Lassen after they had won an open competition to design a new town hall, library and theatre in Søllerød, Denmark. For the town hall they designed a wedding room with accompanying furniture, and the Mayor sofa was designed especially for the waiting area, for couples to sit in before getting married. With a high vertical back and sides, this sofa is unique in style and history. Hand built by skilled craftsmen, the solid walnut frame is a true statement of handcraft and traditional woodworks. Choose from three upholstery colour options, maroon, clay or ruskin.
