I’m a fan of this oak and cane sideboard for its warm, unfussy look and its versatile scale - it feels right at home in a Scandi-inspired lounge, a laid-back coastal dining space or even an airy hallway. The natural oak finish and woven cane doors bring texture without overwhelming a scheme, so you can build on neutrals or layer in soft pastels.
Styling tip: centre a round mirror or slim artwork just above the unit, then add ceramics or glass vases in groups of three, varying heights for interest. A low stack of coffee-table books helps break up the lines, while a trailing plant softens the edges. Inside, use matching woven baskets or fabric bins to keep everyday items tucked away yet within easy reach.

In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth. By 1989, this entrepreneurial spirit led to the opening of the very first physical store on Billacombe Road, originally named "C.D.S. Superstores". However, in the early '90s, a rebranding took place, introducing "The Range" to the world.
Today, with a whopping 200+ stores across the UK, The Range boasts an impressive selection of over 65,000 products, spreading across 16 diverse departments, all dedicated to enhancing homes and lifestyles.
Chris Dawson, the brain behind The Range, held the CEO position from 1989 to 2017. With a flair for business, Chris's achievements haven't gone unnoticed. He was even ranked fifth in a survey of Britain's Top 100 Entrepreneurs.
