Description

Inspired by the pattern of a rug discovered in an antiques market, the Tarma Armchair's hand-embroidered cotton upholstery makes a serious statement, whether it's placed in a social seating set-up or a quiet reading nook. Tasseled fringing – which can be removed and reattached easily – adds an extra playful touch to the design, which was originally applied to our popular Sheki Rug. Coloured using vegetable dyes that are traditionally used for Indian wedding apparel, the fabric lends a room a beautiful vibrancy.

Our Stylist Says

The armchair is a strong statement piece that works well in both traditional and eclectic interiors, thanks to its detailed floral fabric and charming fringe at the base. I love how it adds a touch of colour and pattern without overwhelming a space, making it perfect as an accent in living rooms or bedrooms. Practical styling tips include pairing it with neutral sofas or beds to let the pattern really stand out, or placing it near a reading nook with a soft throw and a small side table. Its size and style make it versatile for both formal and relaxed settings, bringing a cosy yet stylish edge to any room.
