Description

Designed by William Morris in 1876, Pimpernel is one of Morris' greatest designs. The mirrored symmetry and curling stems circling wind-swept flowers create a flamboyant floral pattern that will bring an eye-catching accent to your room. The particular lining used on these curtains is a wadded lining, which is shown to help insulate your home. It allows some sunlight through so isn't fully blackout but it does have thermal properties that will help keep your room cosy in winter. It also helps improve the drape of the curtains, enhancing the vibrancy of the pattern. The width stated indicates the size of one curtain panel when laid completely flat. This pack contains two panels and the track/pole length we've recommended allows for the two panels to be gathered when the curtains are drawn. For a fuller look, increase the curtain width. One pair of 117cm width curtains will fit a curtain track/pole size 117-167cm One pair of 167cm width curtains will fit a curtain track/pole size 133-167cm One pair of 228cm width curtains will fit a curtain track/pole size 182-228cm Do you need a curtain pole and accessories?

Our Stylist Says

I love these Morris & Co. Pimpernel curtains for their timeless floral design and rich, earthy colours, which add warmth and character to a variety of interiors. They're a versatile choice for both traditional and eclectic rooms, especially in living areas or bedrooms where a cosy feel is desired. The thermal lining makes them practical as well as stylish, helping to insulate your space and keep out drafts. For styling, consider pairing these curtains with neutral walls and antique or vintage accessories to highlight their heritage-inspired pattern. To keep the look modern, you can also add contemporary curtain hardware or layer with lighter sheers underneath for a softer, layered effect.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
