A dramatic angle to the line of the P-shaped arms gives our Kalmar armchair its contemporary silhouette. Feather filled back and base cushions offer comforting support which, combined with the relaxed tilt to the seat, encourage a laid back perch. I’m a fan of this pale green striped armchair because the soft cotton covers introduce a subtle dash of colour without overwhelming a room. It’s equally at home in a relaxed coastal living space or a Scandi-inspired snug, and the neutral stripe works well alongside natural timbers and muted textiles.
To style it, I’d add a textured throw in off-white or pale grey and a simple lumbar cushion to highlight the chair’s rolled arms. Position it next to a light oak side table and a linen-shade lamp for an inviting reading corner. The removable cushion covers also make upkeep straightforward, so it’s as practical as it is comfortable.
