Description

The ercol Bellingdon 2 door sideboard is a beautiful piece. Part of the Bellingdon collection it has the same nod to mid-century design as the rest of the collection. A spacious storage cabinet, it has two statement doors with routed groves creating a striking three-dimensional effect in the solid ash timber. Each individual piece has its own unique quality and look, reflecting the beauty and variety of natural wood grain. Crafted in ercol's Buckinghamshire factory and finished in a rich vintage stain colour. Want to see it first? You may want to see and get a feel for this piece of furniture in one of our shops before ordering. We'll be able to tell you where the range you'd like to view is on display.

Our Stylist Says

I’m a big fan of this ercol ash sideboard for its simple, well-proportioned form and the way the carved doors catch the light without feeling fussy. Its solid ash construction and gentle mid-century curves suit both Scandi and modern-classic schemes, and it’s equally at home in a living room, hallway or dining area. Styling tip: keep the top fairly minimal - a low stack of coffee-table books, a single sculptural vase and a small plant will echo its clean lines. Inside, use uniform baskets or boxes to corral bits and pieces and maintain that sleek, organised look.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
