Description

The Skorpio Keramik Wood embodies natural brilliance, designed by Andrea Lucatello. A statement-making wooden tabletop rests upon an artistic base, formed from symmetrical metallic fragments for a show-stopping appearance. To capture the perfect blend between minimalist, organic and contemporary themes, Skorpio Keramik Wood is a must.

Our Stylist Says

The Skorpio Wood table is a sleek choice that combines natural warmth with modern design, making it a versatile piece for both contemporary and more eclectic interiors. The black base adds a striking architectural element, anchoring the table and allowing it to work well in minimalist spaces or as a statement in an industrial or urban-inspired setting. Practical styling tips include pairing it with pared-back chairs in natural fibres or bold colours to highlight the table’s clean lines. It's also well-suited for open-plan dining areas, where its commanding presence can act as a focal point. To keep the look fresh, consider layering with simple accessories and ensuring the surrounding decor complements the natural wood tone and bold base for a cohesive, collected feel.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
